Marco Rubio knows which side his bread is buttered. So unlike his fellow GOPers, Rubio decided that it would be best not to upset the Political Royal Family who gave him his claim to political fame by adding onto the already Eiffel Tower pile of mess resulting from G.W. Bush Jr.’s decision to send the country into war with Iraq.

The young senator told Chris Wallace of Fox News’ “Fox News Sunday” that the former president made the right decision based on the information he had: “It was not a mistake given the fact of what the president knew at the time.”

Rubio’s comments came days after his mentor, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, told Fox News’ Megyn Kelly that his brother G.W. Bush Jr. made the right decision to go into Iraq based on the information that he had during that time.

Jeb Bush’s comments became the tinder in the fire that set off a litany of negative criticism from members within his own party.

Everyone from New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Sen. Ted Cruz from Texas, and yes Sen. Marco Rubio said that they never would have gone into Iraq “knowing what they know now.”

And what they all now know is that G.W.B was not too good at using intelligence in order to detect bad information.

Recognizing the “oops” that he made, Rubio decided that it would be best for him to be a good lad and to stand firm next to the Bush brothers.

So he did what any good lad would do, he ping pong his way around the question about the Iraq war in order to not highlight the one key difference between himself, his mentor, and the former president.
